I have extensive experience of supporting individuals who have experienced sexual violence and/or domestic abuse.
The trauma associated with sexual violence and domestic abuse can have profound and lasting effects on a person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being, and I am deeply committed to helping individuals reclaim their sense of safety, dignity, and self-worth.
My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a strong belief in each person's ability to heal and rebuild their life. I provide a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, process their emotions, and move toward recovery at their own pace.
Sexual violence and domestic abuse are deeply traumatic experiences that can leave lasting scars, both physically and emotionally. It can often leave you grappling with feelings of shame, guilt, fear, and confusion. These experiences can lead to a wide range of emotional and psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and difficulties with trust and intimacy. It is important to recognize that these reactions are normal responses to trauma and that healing is possible with the right support.
Domestic abuse, which can include physical, emotional, psychological, and financial abuse, often creates an environment of fear and control. This can make it extremely difficult for individuals to seek help or even recognize the abuse. Similarly, sexual violence can leave you feeling isolated and powerless.
My goal is to help you regain your sense of power and autonomy, and to provide a supportive environment where you
can process your experiences and begin to heal. Together, we can explore ways to rebuild trust in yourself and others, set healthy boundaries, and create a life that aligns with your values and goals. My commitment as a counsellor is to walk alongside you on your journey, providing the support, understanding, and tools you need to heal and reclaim your life.
