As a qualified children's and young persons
counsellor, I specialize in providing support
to children and young people. My approach
is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to fostering the emotional well-being of every young person I work with. I recognize that each young person has a unique story and set of needs, which is why my practice is highly individualized, ensuring that every client feels seen, heard, and valued. My work with children and young people is driven by a passion for making a positive difference in their lives. My goal is to support young people in overcoming challenges, building
resilience, and achieving their
full potential.
In my work with children and young people, I integrate psychodynamic thinking with a more proactive, approach. Proactive strategies, can help to develop the skills and insights necessary to navigate life's challenges effectively. This may include creative strategies to help think about how you are feeling, but sessions are collaborative and client led to ensure we are focussing on what you want to think about.
Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, bullying, family issues, or the pressures of school, counselling offers you a safe and supportive space to talk about what’s on your mind. I understand that it can be difficult to put your feelings into words, which is why together will find ways that help you to think about, and talk about how you are feeling. My goal is to help you explore your emotions, develop ways to cope, and build resilience.
One of the key parts of our work together will be encouraging self-reflection and personal growth. Adolescence is a time of big changes, and I know you might be grappling with questions about who you are, what your purpose is, and where you belong. I’m here to help you explore these questions in a supportive environment, guiding you toward greater self-awareness and self-acceptance.
Beyond just tackling what’s right in front of us, I believe it’s crucial to empower you with knowledge about mental health and well-being. I'll help you understand the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, discuss the importance of self-care, and encourage you to reach out for help if you're struggling. By learning about these things, you’ll be better equipped to recognize and address any issues on your own.
We will work on identifying your strengths, values and goals and finding practical strategies to help you feel more in control. This process is about empowering you to make positive changes and helping you discover your own path to well-being. It's important to remember that you're not alone in what you're experiencing. Many young people go through similar challenges, and reaching out for support is a strong and courageous step.
Counselling can be a transformative experience and throughout our time together, you’ll have a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. Whatever you’re going through, I’m here to help you navigate it and find your way forward. In our sessions, you’ll find a non-judgmental environment where you can freely express your concerns. We’ll work together in a way and at a pace that feels right for you, finding the best ways to help you manage what you’re going through.
