Frequently Asked Questions

How can Counselling Help

In today's fast-paced world, the importance of mental health cannot be overstated. Many individuals face challenges such as anxiety, depression, and stress, which can significantly impact their daily lives.

Professional counsellors offer a safe space for individuals to express their feelings and thoughts without judgment. Through various therapeutic techniques, counsellors help clients explore their emotions, identify triggers, and develop coping mechanisms. This process can lead to greater self-awareness and improved mental health.

How do I start counselling?

It is important that you find a therapist that you feel comfortable, so I offer a free 20-min initial telephone conversation where I can answer any questions.

The next step is to book a time for an assessment. An assessment provides you with a safe and confidential space to begin to discuss the issues that are troubling you.

The assessment gives us both the opportunity to decide if the approaches I offer are right for you and what approach best suits your needs and circumstances.

How long will I need counselling for?

The length of time you will need counselling will vary according to your needs and individual situation. Psychodynamic counselling is usually a long - term, open-ended therapy, however, this can be adapted to a more solution focussed short-term treatment. We will think about this during the assessment and decide what form of therapy best meets your needs and circumstances.
